Edge Rubber announces plant re-opening with new ownership and experienced local management

Over the past week, over twenty employees returned to work at Edge Rubber, a leading producer of fine rubber powders in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

On November 10, new ownership working with the local management team in Chambersburg acquired Edge Rubber, and, less than three weeks later, the plant is now producing material and serving its customers again!

The new owners are led by Anzu Partners, an investment firm based in Washington DC, and Sam Kauffman, who previously served as VP & COO, is the new CEO of the business. The combination of strong financial backing and experienced management creates new opportunities for Edge. Anzu Partners is led by a management team with industrial experience across the United States, Asia, and Europe.

The new ownership is showing its commitment to the team and the town. As part of the transaction, the new ownership will establish management ownership shares and an employee profit sharing plan across the workforce. Anzu also acquired the ~30,000 square foot facility where Edge operates on Progress Road.

CEO Sam Kauffman has two decades of experience in the rubber recycling industry, since he first started working in the plant when he was 19 years old. A Penn State alum, Kauffman has overseen the operations of the plant for the past decade, including managing relationships with customers both in the US and internationally.
